  • Peak Libtard? SATs to add "Adversity Score"

The Cultural Revolution is closer than I thought.

The College Board, the company that administers the SAT exam taken by about two million students a year, will for the first time assess students not just on their math and verbal skills, but also on their educational and socioeconomic backgrounds, entering a fraught battle over the fairness of high-stakes testing.

The company announced on Thursday that it will include a new rating, which is widely being referred to as an ďadversity score,Ē of between 1 and 100 on studentsí test results. An average score is 50, and higher numbers mean more disadvantage. The score will be calculated using 15 factors, including the relative quality of the studentís high school and the crime rate and poverty level of the studentís neighborhood.

This is pretty poorly considered IMHO. Iíd rather they work to contextualize sections of the SAT to appeal to people of a broader background and go from there.
They speak in bulletpointese leftist nutjob drivel. It doesn't matter. Nothing is as great a motivator as the chance to truly be free.

Then again, to the extent these exams are effective at gauging your ability to perform in college, unless you're going to also change curricula at colleges, any such changes to the exams will just make certain students get into colleges where they won't succeed.

Even if they get the degree, so what unless it's a STEM degree? A liberal arts degree, what most of these people will get if they get a degree, is the equivalent of a high school diploma from the 1950s so essentially they are going $100K in debt for the ability to work at Starbucks.

But hey, what a perfect voter block that's being created.
