Math is hard for you, we get it. Thousands of people have won various lotteries in the U.S so far this year too, but it's rare. But you would have to be honest and understand basic statistics to understand that, so in other words, no chance for you. Since you wanted to look stupid in two threads I will oblige you in this one as well. Comparing the U.S. to other countries isn't valid. It's apples and oranges as has been explained to you many times. None of your other paradises which you haven't moved to yet so you and your family can be "safe" have the diversity and population size we have. Don't worry, I'll send Huffpost a note telling them you are good little foot soldier and doing extra double good at parroting the approved talking points.

Steve (laughs at religion and skooly's 250 this year number not to mention the "this only happens in America" myth the gun grabbers push)

Winning the lottery isnít rare; hell, some scratch and win give 1/3 odds.
They speak in bulletpointese leftist nutjob drivel. It doesn't matter. Nothing is as great a motivator as the chance to truly be free.

It happens with such sick regularity because our guns laws are a joke, virtually nonexistent, and clearly inadequate to address the realities we live in. There are plenty of things we could do to lower the likelihood and lethality of mass shootings, but the intense, burning paranoia of the gun nuts completely shuts down any attempt at reform.

It seems to me that a 21 year age limit stood a pretty good chance of stopping all three of these last few shootings.

Pete (doesn't think a background check of 18 year olds is going to tell you anything)

                Yes, but under supervision.

                  This guy was 24.

Here's the video of him being taken down by a cop. https://nypost.com/2019/08/05/video-...yton-massacre/

Dan (unfortunately doesn't think this is a problem that can be simply legislated away)

Why try to legislate a law, as long as Chicago death numbers can be a punch line for jokes. (keep it up)

Try is what's been done for the past thirty years without success. There are no half-measures for this problem. It's do or don't do. And, I just don't see a gun ban and removal of the 2nd amendment ever happening. So, the best we can do is protect ourselves. Go buy a gun and, do your best to get a cwp. If you can't get a cwp and if it matters to you, move to a state where you can. Steve's right, statistically, you're far more likely to die in a car accident. I'd say, treat the risk accordingly and, enjoy life because sometimes, that's all you can do.

It would take a country ban to do anything.
and that has not happened before..

Look I love having you guys strutting around with your weapons waiting for some kinda paranoid self appointed apocalypse.

The only ones creating this world viewpoint is....just you.

Neil deGrasse Tyson tried to bring a little perspective to the mob regarding the math and mob did what the mob does; went on the attack to anyone who dares not conform to the Borg collective approved think:

This is a lot more scary than mass shootings. Cultural revolution anyone?

People die in car accidents, but over the decades, government and industry have worked together to lower the likelihood and severity of fatal accidents. And it has worked. If you want to regulate firearms like we do automobiles, I welcome that discussion. It would work too.

and we make laws to try to prevent people from dying in car accidents....
People have to get a driver licence just to be qualified or this mass killing experience.
