  • Gun-safety instructor who shot student also shot girl in 1977

    here's the article.

An Ohio firearms instructor who accidentally shot one of his students this month also shot a 14-year-old girl in 1977.

In the 1977 incident, according to a Dispatch account at the time, Dunlap said he fired his .38-caliber handgun into the air to create, in his words, “a scary effect,” while taking his daughter and her friends for a “haunted hayride.”

Dunlap, 73... accidentally fired a .38-caliber handgun during a gun-safety class on Aug. 10. The bullet hit a desk, then ricocheted, hitting Piemonte.
They speak in bulletpointese leftist nutjob drivel. It doesn't matter. Nothing is as great a motivator as the chance to truly be free.

        • (CNN) — The combination of a gun and a surprise gone wrong left a beloved 18-year-old track star dead, authorities in Longmont, Colorado, say.

Premila Lal jumped out of a closet as a harmless joke to surprise a family friend, her father says. But the noise startled the friend, who grabbed a gun and shot her.

          • Jen just sent this to me. Some guy died of multiple gunshot wounds at a range in the Chicago metro area.

Police say Michael Babinski, 49, was shot multiple times in the neck and head on the first floor of the gun range at the shop.

Authorities say they are treating the incident as a "possible accidental shooting."

I have a lot of trouble believing it was accidental, considering the guy was shot multiple times. The only way I could see this being an accident is if the victim crossed the firing line into the range itself and ran in front of a shooter who was shooting rapidly. I've heard of accidents where some idiot fires off a round while putting down a loaded gun or waving it around while forgetting he is pointing a loaded gun at someone. It's the multiple times thing that stands out.

-Jon (would leave immediately if he saw someone being unsafe and the range officer didn't do something about it right away)

                          • SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- The man drew the gun several times on the crowded San Francisco commuter train, with surveillance video showing him pointing it across the aisle without anyone noticing and then putting it back against his side, according to authorities.

The other passengers were so absorbed in their phones and tablets they didn't notice the gunman until he randomly shot and killed a university student, authorities said.
