A Federal law is at issue. How is that case not in Federal court yet?

A state supreme court ruling that state law is preferable to federal law is not shocking.

Pete (expects the opposite result when that's appealed to federal court)

Horrible decision. Gun control over machine guns is one thing, this is another.

I think it's not fully indexed now because if I type in "great moments" in the search bar I do not see this thread. I'll keep working on it.

Pete (may be wrong but thinks that's the best test)

I don’t know if this means it is indexed or not indexed, but I can see and access this thread, only because it is the most recently commented thread in the news forum, so a link appears on the home page.

But if I click the link from the home page to the news forum, this thread does NOT appear in the list of threads in that forum page. I’ve noticed this with other “old” yet “alive” threads; I can only find them if they are the most recently commented threads in their respective forums, which pushes their links onto the home page.

OK so it looks like most of the threads we've "lost" exist but are still on the server. They're just not being indexed. If you google them (as I did with this thread) you can find them, and then if you post in them, they get re-indexed.

Credit Jon with finding that little hiccup. It's not much, but at least we can find some of the best old threads.

Pete (will try to recover them all, but in the meantime there's always google)

Wondering if posting here will reindex the thread.

    Pete (tries it)

I will do the same for victims of teen texting. You should start a "the random unlikely things I'm afraid if" thread, once you get approval from the church of course.

I will also send my congratulation to all those who weren't a victim of crime or who stopped someone from being a victim because of their gun because for some mysterious reason you, and all the members of your church, always seem to forget about them.

Notice how once your church found out the MD shooter was a black transgender, the story disappeared. The Ministry Of Truth doing a fine job as usual.

Skooly, you are so partisan and your preaching of the approved dogma is so pure it really would be hard to code a bot that would be completely indistinguishable from the real you. In fact, I'm not sure you aren't a bot.

MIDDLETON - The gunman who shot four people at a Dane County software company with an illegally obtained pistol was banned from carrying concealed weapons after a "mental health" incident in 2004 while living in South Dakota, police said Friday.
    https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...04/1380894002/

At some point during the exchange of gunfire with police, a citizen who police said is authorized to carry a concealed weapon was in the area and began shooting at the suspect with the police. The suspect was hit at least once by gunfire but it was not known if Cicero police or the armed citizen fired that shot, police said.

4 Dead In Shooting At Maryland Rite Aid Facility

Four people, including the shooter, were killed when a 26-year-old woman opened fire Thursday morning at the Rite Aid distribution center in Harford County, Maryland, where she worked, authorities confirmed.

An additional three people were injured and are expected to survive, police said.

The suspect, who has been identified as Snochia Moseley, was taken to an area hospital with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to her head, Harford County Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler said during a press conference. She died after arriving at the hospital in critical condition.

I know that joking about these things is in poor taste...

...but if you're going to shoot up a video game tournament...

...you should have the common decency to shoot up a first person shooter event.

Pete (thinks irony is just lost on some people)
