That's a myth, actually a lie, that kinda came out of nowhere. Kaepernick has made so such demands (as relayed from Shannon Sharpe). Kaepernick apparently says he doesn't know how much he's asking because he hasn't spoken to any teams. And obvious his salary asking requirements, would depend on the role he would be playing with a team.... but since he hasn't spoken to any teams, there's no way to know what to ask.

Now you can choose to balance that all against what Shannon Sharpe said:

"He says, 'People keep putting out that I'm asking for 10, nine million dollars.' He says, 'Shannon, they don't know what I'm asking for. I have not talked to, my representative has not talked to, [teams].'"
First, that's patently false because we now know that prior to Shannon Sharpe's comments at least the Seahawks and the Ravens talked to Kaepernick or his agent. Second, Kaepernick does not deny asking for $9-10 million dollars even if you accept Sharpe's statement. He says we don't know. Finally, Austin Davis and Mark Sanchez are not making "a chance to start" a condition of their employment. If Kaepernick thinks he should be able to start ahead of Russell Wilson in Seattle, why hire him?

Pete (really hopes that Shannon Sharpe just got bad information, because otherwise he was just outright lying)

If Kap claims he's turned down offers, then his grievance with the NFL is voided by his own comments

Shannon Sharpe, say he was told that in a phone conversation. Unlike the others, that's direct from the source.
    Below explains it.

That is an insane level of speculation, David.

Pete (supposes it's plausible but that's about as far as it goes)

Trump slams NFL's decision to not penalize players who take a knee during anthem

Trump slams NFL's decision to not penalize players who take a knee during anthem

President Donald Trump on Wednesday blasted the National Football League's decision to not discipline players who take a knee during the national anthem, calling it a "total disrespect" to the United States.

"The NFL has decided that it will not force players to stand for the playing of our National Anthem. Total disrespect for our great country!" the president wrote on Twitter.

On Tuesday, following a meeting with owners and players, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell announced that the league would not force players to stand for the national anthem. Goodell sent a memo last week that indicated the NFL was developing a plan to penalize players who did not stand for the national anthem to protest police brutality and racial inequality.

NFL ratings continue fall, latest Nielsen numbers show

Through the first six weeks of the NFL season, total viewership of games is down 7.5 percent, compared with the first six weeks of 2016.

An average of 15 million people watched games for the first six weeks this year, compared with 16.2 million people through Week 6 last season, according to metrics from Nielsen.
Pete (thinks the trend is starting to be proven out)

Could it be that its also a pretty bland season to start with? Hats off to the KC but they are the best team and the definition of vanilla football.

Pats/Cowboys/Giants/Bears/whole west coast is not as strong or bad this year....that's who drives the ratings bus.

Maybe. But ratings are down over 2016 and 2016 was WAY down over 2015.

Pete (can't really prove any causality)
