    2017 NCAA tournament

There wasn't a thread for this. I know many here don't care. I do like college basketball and am sad my school got the shaft from the tourney this year.
An interesting topic has arisen from this that is finally getting more attention.
Their coach expressed his issues with the committeee about why teams like my school struggle to succeed even with an amazing record. It's frustrating.

And from a different angle coming from another coach in our conference of a team who IS in the tournament and feels the same woes.

Wait, the NCAA tournament wasn't a one-time thing?

And when did it become a college thing?
They speak in bulletpointese leftist nutjob drivel. It doesn't matter. Nothing is as great a motivator as the chance to truly be free.

Northwestern apparently won their first tournament game ever yesterday.

Pete (shares everything he knows about the NCAA tournament)

I love playing basketball. I love watching UNC basketball. However, I don't really pay attention until it's down to the sweet 16. My NCAA bracket looks like this:

I have a hard time watching any college sports any more. All I see is people not good enough to be pros.

Pete (watches his 8 year old play soccer and has about the same experience)

I'm just opposite. The Pros are Prima Donnas, and this is the definition I'm talking about - "a very temperamental person with an inflated view of their own talent or importance". Did you ever see a defensive back get totally beaten on a play only to have the receiver miss the catch? Invariably, the DB will puff out his chest and accept high-fives from anybody willing. Where's Barry Sanders when you need him?

Sad to say, the college guys are now doing a good job emulating the Pros in this regard. Even High School. Sigh!

Oh, and did I say I was a little pissed. Michigan beat my team today.

Amen. Though, for once I was actually slightly interested, since Northwestern made it in. Now I'm not even slightly interested. Jen likes it, so I support her interest at times.

I watched seven minutes of basketball this weekend.

Pete (thinks that's the first seven minutes of basketball he's watched all season, pro or college)
