Thread: Pete's idiosyncrasies: "on" or "by" accident

    I voted for "on accident", but off the top of my head I would think "by accident" is the correct way.

    I try to be a good speaker and writer, but I tend to think of language as only a means to an end. Getting your point across is really the only thing that matters. I suppose it's the engineer in me. I realize that making good points can sometimes require good language skills, but those skills are usually about making something understandable or relatable... rather than grammatical correctness.
    One of the great mistakes is to judge policies and programs by their intentions rather than their results.
