    No! That's not what they mean. I believe they mean that if an F-35 was in the boost area when it lifts off, it could see it (electronically) and report to the anti-missile system. Or, something like that.

    According to Wikipedia, re-entry speed is between 1 and 7 km/second, depending on the technology of the missile. It seems unlikely that a fighter could make a successful interception.
