Anyone Hiked Havasu Falls or Grand Canyon Rim to Rim?

I've never been a hiker other than the military and a few smaller hikes to waterfalls, etc in parks. I did a little over 5 yesterday up and down mountains in Crawford Notch state park in New Hampshire. I'm getting older and want to do these hikes before I no longer can.

Never been to Arizona. I do share your desire to do things before I'm too old to do them though.

I am embarrassed to say I have been to Arizona more times than I could even begin to try to count and I have never been to either.

I did a 15 mile road march in 4-5 hours. Most seem to recommend hiking from the north to the south rim and take 2-3 days to do it. I think Id want to do at least 15 miles in the first day and save the climb up for the second.
