    More Than 1,000 U.S. Spies in Brazil Protecting Rio Olympics

    U.S. intelligence has assigned more than 1,000 spies to Olympic security as part of a highly classified effort to protect the Rio 2016 Summer Games and American athletes and staff, NBC News has learned.

      The Russian vice-consul in Rio de Janeiro dramatically shot dead an armed mugger who had tried to hold him up in his car - just after the Olympic torch relay had passed by on the last day before the Rio 2016 opening ceremony.

                    For those watching at home...if algae takes over a pool, anything else could too...

                              China set that example. The smog miraculously disappeared 2 days before the Olympics and made a return the day after everyone left.

                                Rio has the advantage of when in doubt , fall back on an aerial shot. It has to be one of the most beautiful cities on earth........from 5,000 ft
